Our Male Athlete of the Week is Tristan Sharp! Coach says "Tristan runs distance for the track team. I have had the pleasure of coaching Tristan for 2 years at IMS in football, basketball, and track. Tristan is a very hard working kid who does whatever is asked of him without complaining. I also have him in the classroom where his work ethic models the "Bulldog Way" to others. He is well respected by his coaches and his teammates. "

Our Female Athlete of the Week is Lamya Masters! Coach says "Lamya is in her 2nd season of IMS track. She is a long jumper, sprinter, and thrower. Lamya is very coachable and has a welcoming demeanor to all of her teammates. She is a hard worker who puts forth her best effort. I also have Lamya in the classroom where she is a well respected student by her teachers and peers. Lamaya is funny, upbeat, and brings a lot of energy to our team. "

Independence Middle School students had 12 entries in the Museum Art Contest this week. (IHMAC Young Artists Exhibit.) Artworks will be displayed April 1-11, 2025 at the Independence Historical Museum & Art Center on 123 N 8th St. Independence, KS.
Last night at the Reception, winners were announced:
- MARY CHAPLIN won Middle School Best of Show with her Painting.
- KATIE MAH won Honorable Mention in Painting.
- MADI LAWRENCE won Third Place with her Painting.
- KEILY SERRANO-RENTERIA won Honorable Mention with her Painting.
- ABIGAIL VINCEN Won First Place with her Drawing.

Our Female Athlete of the Week is Hadley Moley! Coach says "Hadley Moley has been working hard to improve her game and keeping a positive attitude even when shots don't go her way. " Proud of how Hadley, not only has a great attitude on the golf course, but also in the classroom. Her energy is always amazing and the way she treats people is always great! We appreciate you Hadley! #TheBulldogWay
Our Male Athlete of the Week is Elliot Townley! Coach says "I want to nominate Elliot Townley. Elliot is new to golf but has shown improvement with every practice. He keeps a positive attitude while on the course and is happy to be part of the team." Elliot, we are so proud of the effort you bring daily at practice! That type of attitude will help you be successful, not only in golf, but everywhere! #TheBulldogWay

New date for Spring Pictures is April 7. Information sent home with students, if you are interested in ordering. #TheBulldogWay
Student Council is selling t-shirts that were designed by our very own, Lynessa Knight.
Orders will be taken through April 4th. It will be about a week after that when we get the shirts. No extra shirts will be ordered, and the money must be turned in at the time of order.
Please turn forms into the library. Student Council is always excited about showing the talent of our students, and this is just one way we do that. We have some talented kiddos!! #TheBulldogWay
