The National Weather Service has put out updated weather information which has rain/storms/hail from 4pm-7pm. With this new information, we have made the decision to cancel the Independence Middle School Track Meet scheduled for this afternoon.
*There will also be no Track or Tennis Practice today.
*School will still dismiss at 2:55pm, with busses running at normal times.
Our Female Athlete of the Week is Kimberly Palmer. Coach says " Kimberly showed great sportsmanship during the Victory Games, not only trying her best but cheering on others during their events. She is so happy and excited when others do well. Kimberly is awesome."

Our Female Athlete of the Week is Eva McClure. Coach says "Eva is an 8th grader who is new to track this season. She is a fierce competitor who also competes in wrestling and volleyball. Eva is hurdler, sprinter, and member of multiple relay teams. She works extremely hard to be the best she can be at whatever she puts her mind to!"

Our Male Athlete of the Week is Carsen Stair. Coach says "Carson is an 8th grader in his 2nd season of track at IMS. Carson models the Bulldog Way through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. He is a sprinter and member of multiple relay teams. Carson leads by example and is very coachable and dependable."

Our Male Athlete of the Week is Tristan Sharp! Coach says "Tristan runs distance for the track team. I have had the pleasure of coaching Tristan for 2 years at IMS in football, basketball, and track. Tristan is a very hard working kid who does whatever is asked of him without complaining. I also have him in the classroom where his work ethic models the "Bulldog Way" to others. He is well respected by his coaches and his teammates. "
